I came home on Wednesday to find that my daughter’s hamster, Gucci, had somehow escaped from his cage. He was scurrying around the floor with Sid in hot pursuit. Luckily, Gucci was completely unharmed. Curiously, Sid only wanted to see the hamster and seemed to have no real desire to harm it. I also saw this kind of curiosity when April, my son’s service dog met a hamster. I decided to hold Gucci so that Sid could get a better look. Now Sid goes to Gucci’s cage and meows to see him.
