Sid is our 17 pound black classic tabby Maine Coon. He’s polydactyl, with 50% more toes than a normal cat– 7 toes on each front foot and 5 on each back foot.
I’ve been an animal lover my entire life. I’ve owned dozens of cats of all kinds, either adopted from friends with too many kittens or from local animal shelters. Sid is my first purebred, purchased cat. His registered name happens to be Sundae Funday, so in honor of his name, I plan to post weekly Sunday Funday photos.
Over the past 20 years, most of my time and attention has been spent on parenting my two children, disproportionally more time on my autistic son than on my daughter. Now that I’ve been relieved of much of his daily care, the prospect of dealing with me without a major project makes my partner, M. very nervous. I tend to like projects and throw myself completely into their creation. We decided that it was a good idea to proactively choose my next project rather than letting my next project choose me. Sid’s the best investment we’ve ever made.
